Lower Manhattan Open Hearts is holding a free book fair for homeless neighbors living at a Safe Haven shelter on the Lower East Side!
We’ll be organizing and distributing books of all genres on Thursday, November 19th from 2-4pm (volunteers needed from 1:30-4:30pm). You can volunteer for all or part of the event. Here’s how to help:
Volunteer at the event: Help organize and distribute books, set up, or clean up. Click the button below to RSVP.
Donate books: We welcome new and gently used books of all genres. No kids’ books, please—the neighbors at this shelter are all adults. To donate books, contact Jayme@openheartsinitiative.org to coordinate a drop-off or pickup.
Help transport donations: If you have a car, we’d love your help getting donated books to the event. Email jayme@openheartsinitiative.org to help with this.
